Front of the house done!

Thought I would post pictures of the house as we finish things. The front is now done thanks to lots of help from Joel. Here is how it looks now. We love it!

Eagle Project Done!

Kameron's Eagle project is finally done. It turned out great. We are now waiting to hear from the Eagle board. Way to go Kam!

Mckay Juggling

This is what Mckay thinks campouts are for, practicing juggling since there is no grass. The practice helped though as he was able to juggle 148 times after he got home. A personal best for now.

We had a great time camping in Valdez over Memorial Day weekend. Here are some pics.

Bear Hunt

Rachelle and the family were nice enough to let me go on a week long bear hunt.  It was a great trip and I was able to bag a 6 ½ foot, 350 lb black bear.  Here are some pictures from the trip.

The Mighty Hunters

We saw lots of wildlife and beautiful scenery.

I shot my bear from just behind this rock.  The bear was on the grassy river bank 250 yards away.

This is the boat we stayed on.

My bear was the largest taken on the trip.  It was 6 1/2 feet tall and weighed about 350 lbs.  There was no way I could lift it by myself.  The skull measured 19 9/16 inches which would make it a bronze score for Safari Club International (just bearly missed silver).

It will make a very nice rug.

It was a lot of work getting the hide off the bear and prepped.

Trip to Utah March 2009

It has been a while since our March trip to Utah but I thought I had better post some pictures from our fun trip.

Native Youth Olympics

Apparently Mckay may be part native.  

Mckay was invited by his school to participate in the Anchorage Native Youth Olympics (open to all school kids, native and non-native).  He competed in the two foot high kick.  It involves jumping off of two feet and kicking a ball suspended from a string keeping the feet together then landing on two feet under control.  Mckay was the highest 3-4 grade boy two foot kicker.  He kicked and landed a 46 inch high ball.  It was a fun competition and we are proud of Mckay (even if the 4th grade girls kicked higher).

Stake Dance
